Founded in 2015 by Erika Lundahl and Doug Indrick, Rolling Crone Records was created as a platform for new voices in the Pacific Northwest music community, specifically with the intention of elevating the voices of activist musicians and multimedia artists.
Why “Rolling Crone” Records?
We’re fascinated by how our historic memory informs our present. Our first release on the record label was “Songs of Shattering” from Animals of Grace – a collection of musically-adapted poems by Edna St. Vincent Millay. Edna St. Vincent Millay was a 20th century openly queer, bisexual poet and musician. Over 100 years ago, Edna St. Vincent Millay Edna pushed the limits of sexual identity, femininity and storytelling. She lived by her own definition, and challenged society to meet her at the far edges of culture and dive into uncharted territory.
We are inspired by the edges of society, and seek to keep that radical wisdom rolling into the next generation of storytellers. We embrace gender and sexual fluidity, and the stories of artists that embody queerness, decolonization and the struggle for the authentic self. We are climate justice activists, feminists, and artists passionately grasping for the stories that lead to culture change. This is a platform for activists and queer artists to share their music, and multi-media creative endeavors.

It answers all my questions, the noble, mighty thing, it is “green pastures and still waters” to my soul. Indeed, without music I should wish to die.
